miniature game pieces
« on: March 10, 2008, 09:15:11 AM »
GHQ just came out with a WWII German aircraft pack--GHQ stock# GEN19.  It consists of 4--CONDORS,  8--BV-138S,  8--DO-217S, 12--ARADOS, & 6--STUKAS.  These pieces are in 1/2400 scale.  XENO GAMES ALSO HAD A BOXED SET OF EXTRA MINIS, IT WAS OVER 200 PIECES OF VARIOUS PIECES & COUNTRIES.  NOT SURE HOW THE SCALE FROM GHQ WORKS WITH THIS GAME BUT THE XENO GAMES BOXED SET LOOK LIKE A&A SIZED PIECES.

1/2400 planes will not work in this game - they would be 1/4 the size of the planes they're currently using. For example, I would say the Spitfires in the game are about 1/2 inch in length. At 1/2400 scale, they'd be 1/8 inch. Hope you've got sharp eyes when one falls off the table...

The GHQ 1/2400 planes are designed to be glued onto the decks of their CV's or used in dioramas. It's only my opinion, but I think 1/2400 scale for planes is far too small for gaming use. Most guys who use 1/2400 naval miniatures use larger scale miniatures for planes and have each plane represent a flight or squadron.
