Due to the costs of pending home repairs (I need to replace my furnace, which is kinda important here in Alaska), and traveling due to family health issues, I ain't gonna make it to any lower 48 cons this year.  Someday, but not this year.

A crapload of politics and intrigue have surrounded Origins over the last decade, but in the latest batch is the move of the convention date to an earlier timeframe.

Not sure if I will make it to Origins or not -  but should know by the end of February.   It is the Con I would love to go to this Summer if I make it to any this year.

No offense Ken, but I was directing my comments towards John and Mark.  I was unsure they know about the reasons why the dates had changed.

Or that they had changed at all.

I think that the main issue was that they could get a cheaper deal for the earlier date. 

But it has been pointed out that many people won't be able to come on the earlier date, especially those with children, because most schools will still be in session.  And another certain percentage of attendees are teachers, so that works against this date too.

I understand.

I think that they should try for either the third or fourth weekend of June.  You would avoid the school issue and you are still approximately six weeks before Gen Con Indy.

But what do I know.   ???
