Title: Online play? Ever thought about it?
Post by: Darkman on June 09, 2008, 04:17:18 AM
Hiya all ,

just wondered if you guys ever thought on an online version of this game.
I have seen so many games on Cyberboard, Vassal Game Engine and TRIPLEA.

Just not the best WW2 game, sadly.

What do you guys think?

I'm not sure, but I know Xeno Games has World at War online.  Maybe one of those gamers or the company can give you some idea.

Stay with the board game. It's more interesting & entertaining to play against carbon-based units than just another AI. The AI doesn't moan & groan & show dispair when the die rolls are not going in your favor.

I would have to side with this. There seem to be so many video games along these lines as it is.

I am more of a face to face social player  :)

I'm not sure about this, but he may be talking about a way to play the game online rather than turning it into a computer game. You would still play the game physically - the computer would just keep track of and display moves and combats. This would allow for a game to be played between two players who aren't in close proximity to each other.

I've never played a game this way, so I don't know how well it works. Like you guys I prefer playing face to face - half of the fun is the social part.
