Rules questions from first edition / Out of Supply
« on: December 28, 2008, 07:23:23 AM »
Hey there :)

I hope you can give me some answer on that question.

It's all about this

"Players may not build units in unsupplied production center territories."

"However, players may still build an infantry unit in territories that enable the Axis or the Allies to build an additional infantry unit in them (such as Romania for the Axis or Sydney for the Allies) even if those territories are determined to be out of supply"

What about if lets say "Berlin" or one or more german territories are out of supply.
Can germany build one or more infantry?

Thanks :)

General Discussion / Online play? Ever thought about it?
« on: June 09, 2008, 04:17:18 AM »
Hiya all ,

just wondered if you guys ever thought on an online version of this game.
I have seen so many games on Cyberboard, Vassal Game Engine and TRIPLEA.

Just not the best WW2 game, sadly.

What do you guys think?

After action reports from first edition / German Bunker
« on: March 14, 2008, 10:46:18 PM »
Hi there and sorry for the delay.

Some pictures from a 6 Player game.

We are still in Winter 1941 but the game looks very promising for the Axis.

Please ignore the Quality of the pictures.  I did them too fast and too close.

Rules questions from first edition / New Rulebook , New Question
« on: April 05, 2007, 08:39:31 AM »
Hi there , some questions to the new rulebook came up.

Airbase attack : Does Anti air units defend on an Airbase attack or doing "fly over" shots?

New Japan Homeland Value: Can they build up to 3 Factories now?
Rulebook has only 3 or more , 6 or more , 12 or more

Soviet Draw Event : I guess it only means "If Axis fail to take Western Poland on first turn"?

Optional Rule with Damaged Ships:
There is a text where it talks about damaged Japenese Carriers

Thanks :)

Rules questions from first edition / Subs suprise attack
« on: February 19, 2007, 03:41:02 AM »
Hey again :)

Today i want to talk about subs.

A) According the rules ,  if a sub attacks a lonely carrier with a figher on it. The fighter could eliminate the sub before the submarine can start their suprise attack.
That makes somehow no sense to me :P?

Shouldn't Sub have a suprise attack before aircrafts can hit them if there are no destroyers in battle?

B) Can a Sub reatreat from a strategic convoy mission after the end of the combat round?

C) Normally ships can't retreat to a zone where enemy surfarce ships are present
Since subs can move freely or stay in the zone shouldn't they also be able to retreat into every zone , even if there are enemy surface ships?

Thanks
Dominik :)

Rules questions from first edition / Blocking Pearl Harbor
« on: February 18, 2007, 01:13:38 AM »
Hiya all,

Just came on an idea.. what if the US Pacific fleet lets say move 4 Destroyer along the blue line in the pacific to blockade an attack on pearl harbor ?
Seems to be a cheap way for the US to save their battleships

Game Design / Bitter Peace
« on: January 22, 2007, 08:30:26 AM »
I know maybe i play too much Hearts of Iron but in that game there are many trigger events, like if you capture all VP points from Russia , there is a 33% chance every month (game is in realtime) that Stalin has to accept a bitter peace with Germany and all unconquered territories stay soviet and russia is neutral until the end of war or germany attacks again.

Another two things that came into my mind.

a) Don't you think there should be a penality for Russia if you take Moscow

b) I don't know but i still think the game doesn't reflect german kriegsmarine & luftwaffe (especially bombers) enough?:p Maybe there isn't enough PP to reflect this.

Just some suggestion

After action reports from first edition / Our First Game
« on: January 09, 2007, 10:24:53 AM »
Hi there,

We made some pictures on our first game. It ended in a Allied victory in Spring 1942 (Axis 27 VP)
We also made some mistakes with vichy france on our surrender turn (Some more pp for germany).
I'm sorry we didn't cared much about how the pictures are on our first game. Also please don't care about the camera date :P (it was kinda buggy)

We will make it better on our second game for sure.

Some pictures

Rules questions from first edition / Question Round 3
« on: December 26, 2006, 01:59:52 AM »
Sorry for so many question..but there are still some things i don't get right.
I hope they are the last for the first game tho.

Q: "Strategic Attacks"
Why do defending Bombers particate Strategic attacks at all?

Q: Stages of Ground Combat
Where to begin rolling the dices.. (with the tanks or the infantry?)

Q: Transports "Unescorted transports may only move into sea zones that are controlled by the owning player"
Does this include allied sea zones? And what about Soviet sea zones

Q: Strategic Redeployment for Ships
"When moving strategically , a naval unit can only move through sea zones
that are under friendly ownership and control at the beginning of the movement phase

I don't understand this at all because on page 14 sea zone controlling is
   changes instantly.

Transports may only move into enemy controlled sea zones if accompanied by surface combat naval unit or if a surface combat unit has moved through the sea zone prior to the transport's movement during the same movement phase

So this is allowed but strategic movement not?

Q: Does AA have only 3 shots during the whole fight over 3 for every combat round?

Q:On pages 17 air defensive support is decribed , where air units can move from adjacent territories/sea zones can come for support.
But on retreating they can fly back their full range ? Not only 1 ?

Q: Defending air units on sea zones fights only have a half of their maximum range for retreating. (is this correct?)

Q: Soviet units cannot attack with Chinese units but they can occupy the same territory if Japan is invading Western China / Mongolia or Tibet? What happens if they are attacked. Do they defend together?

Q: What zones belong to western china?

Q: Can Chinese units move freely through Tibet and Mongolia from the beginning? Or only when Tibet and Mongolia are "at war"

Q: Strategic Damage on Convoys or Territories

Let's say the Axis do 3 convoy damage to britain on the first turn..
Do you reduce the Production Points from the "Start Production Value" (So Britain has 37pp on turn 1 to buy units with) or does Britain get just less production points on the end of the allied turn?
Or better say
Does strategic damage reduce the Income Track for next collect or the actual PP the player has on the hand"

Sorry for so many question

« on: December 22, 2006, 04:30:09 AM »

On the France set up sheet only 10.

Rules questions from first edition / Some Question
« on: December 18, 2006, 06:10:18 AM »
1)  Q: Can a unit use both strategic & tactical each turn or only stratetgic "or" tactical?

2) <Rules> "If they elect to attack strategic convoys, each submarine rolls 1d6 and the opposing player loses that many production points up to the maximum of the convoy zone. "

Q: Can each sub do up to maximum damage or all together only up to the maximum of the convoy zone?

3) Q: Is there a AA gun limit for a territory ?

4) <Rules>  If the U.S. is delivering 5 production points in Lend Lease to Great Britain in the North Atlantic, the U.S. player would spend 5 production points in his initial phase and place a red chip under one of the British control markers in the North Atlantic. The British would then collect any surviving production points at the beginning of the next Allied turn.

Q: is there a lend lease points limit?
i mean can i also put 10 or 15 points into the lend lease slot

5) Last so far

Q: What is this used for?
