Rules Questions & Clarifications / Winter affects in Pacific theatre
« on: July 15, 2016, 05:55:56 AM »
Do you still get a negative or positive modifier during combat in the tropical places (India, Southeast Asia, pacific islands) during the winter? I would think no, or maybe only in China, but can you guys clarify this to me?

Game Design / V1/V2 Rockets
« on: July 05, 2016, 12:18:18 PM »
I always felt the V rockets in the game are doing a little too much economic damage than they did historically. I've been thinking about it and I have a proposition to make.

V1: cost 4, range 2, 1 d3 economic damage, AA unit can defend against it, R results is a hit. After all half of these rockets were destroyed in the air. You only destroy the rocket and not the facility. You will need to conquer the area to destroy the actual facility.

V2: cost 6, range 3, 1d3 economic damage, AA can not defend against these attacks. You will need to build 2 V1 rockets to start building a V2 rocket.

Sounds historical?

Rules Questions & Clarifications / Re: Questions on newest Rulebook (2015)

1) Allies will have to move a land unit into an empty vinchy territory, after it collapses to land planes,  there are still axis owned but axis can't receive income anymore unless an axis unit occupies them.

2) that's a great question, I would think if you didn't move your naval units in port at the end of the last turn, on a chit draw that these naval units can be activated, will be able to move in port.

Never had a game be that bad for the axis, unless you get crushed in France, or wasnt be able to strategically attack Britain. What happened on this game? Which turn Italy declared war to the Allies?

#1: I play it, when merchant raiders have the neutral flag on they can go thru straights, but when they display the Axis flag can only go thru straights that are axis friendly(Denmark).

#2: Italian navy CAN go thru Gilbraltar or Suez while Italy is still neutral. They will have to go back to an Italian port at the end of the turn

Rules Questions & Clarifications / Re: Barbarossa Rules

Xmmm the way the rules are written it says that air units on the air to air combat, apply the +1,-1 modifier to  their dice rolls not their air to air values

Barbarossa works like this: on the FIRST round of combat when Germany attacks Russia,  German ONLY( NOT AXIS) units get a plus 1 to their attack combat value( ex. A 3-4 German infantry will hit on a 4 or less). Russian units will get a -1 modifier to their defense combat values even if the attacker has only axis minor units ( ex. a 2-3 Russian infantry will defend on a 2 or less) . Air to air combat, German get a -1 to their dice roll, and Russian a +1. Very important to remember: it's only the first round of combat, not a full turn.

Winter rules apply to all AXIS units inside the 1939 Russian borders except mountain and Finnish units. 1939 borders don't include vyborg, eastern Poland or any of the Baltic states.  I hope that will help you.
