Hi,

I have a copy of the rulebook somewhere, but as yet haven't purchased the game ( girlfriend!). Yet I do visit this site still occasionally and am currently also saving to purchase it in due time. I have another question which is undoubtedly covered in the rulebook, but I don't have it at hand at the moment and memory doesn't seem to serve either right now....

Are there any weather effects that play a role in the game ( e.g. Russian winter) or is this handled in a different way?

Thanks!

I agree with what you said about infantry being able to kill tanks and artillery: on the other hand, considering the scale of this and other games, it's unlikely that an infantry division would destroy a tank division........we're not talking about single tanks or a handful here......

And...infantry CAN kill other units when the enemy does not HAVE any infantry of his own. In other words: make sure you have infantry support for your tanks etc.

How about:

infantry ALWAYS kill infantry ( unless no enemy infantry present) ( then other land-units, if no land units then planes or arguably, nothing....)

Other land-units that attack on 2+ get to choose which enemy LAND  unit is eliminated on rolls of 1.

Planes attacking land-units get to choose which one to eliminate on rules of 1.

These are basically the rules from " A&A enhanced realism rules" to refelect more historical combat losses......

Rules questions from first edition / Re: Rules available online???

Sounds great so far. I think, if the rules are good, I might be very tempted to at least order the " regular"  version. Any idea on when I might receive the rules? ( via e-mail?) or will you make them available for viewing somewhere on this site?

I've been shifting through these pages a bit and if I understood it correctly it's not only possible to play the entire game, but it's also possible to play the European and Asian theatres of war seperately? Did I understand this correctly? ( I would welcome this option)

Furthermore I take it the pictures on this forum, mainly show the Deluxe version's components?

I'd say the biggest mistakes the Germans made took place in Russia: overambitious goals combined with too few resources. Furthermore, they never should have wagered into Stalingrad, they should've surrounded/ bypassed it and cut off the Wolga supplies somewhere else. Postponing " Kursk"  was also bad, since it was the last opportunity they had to win a decisive victory in the East. Now they allowed the Russians too much time to prepare. If the invasion of Sicily hadn't taken place and the offensive had been started a month earlier, they would've stood a chance. Remember how close the SS divisions came to making a breakthrough!

Rules questions from first edition / Rules available online???

I'd be interested in buying this game. Axis and allies, though still enjoyable, has become too unrealistic to me,whereas in other games ( e.g. Europe engulfed) I still seem to miss the minatures ( please don't tell anyone, but I actually still enjoy handling the miniatures...). Now the thing is, due to its huge price tag, I'd really like to read the rules first before buying a game of this price....Does anyone know if and where I could find them online? So far I've only seen some differences between this game and A&A.
