General Discussion / Fortifications PIECES

Historical Board Gaming is selling a 3D fortification piece. The way it comes its a little too big to fit on the counter, but I just got off the phone with Doug, the owner of the company, he can scale it to the point that will fit on the counter. Im planning on ordering about 60-70 of them, if anybody else will like to mass order with me, we will most likely get a really good pricing for it. There is the link of the website, take a look at the pieces being offered and we can decide all together which one will be better for the game. I was thinking on the dimensions, 13mm wide/8mm long and 8-10mm high, it will make it git on the counter perfectly                   . http://www.historicalboardgaming.com/Fortifications-3d-Printed_p_2034.html
take a look and let me know what do you think.

I think it should be a 3PP convoy zone, Allies can have a fgt or a naval/tactical bomber to harass the Axis convoy zone like they did. Mark???

Finished all the British Air Force. There are 9 air units being used in this game.

1)Gladiator as an early fighter.
2)Swordfish as a naval bomber.
3)Hurricane as a fighter.
4)Spitfire as a fighter.
5)Mosquito as a long range fighter/ground attack plane.
6)Typhoon as an ground attack plane.
7)Medium Bombers: I used Blenheim and Wellingtons
8)Heavy Bombers: I use Lancaster's and Short Sterling's.
9)Air transport: Used C-47 air units.

You can find any of these units at tumbling dice 1/600 scale, metal, and some plastic ones(less expensive) from HBG like the spitfire, hurricanes,c-47s, swordfish, and the Lancaster or short sterling hvy bomber .

After Action Reports / Playtesting / Re: October 2015 "Struggle-Con" game

Choices, choices, that's what this game is all about. Give the initiate away and pray that the Allies don't get to move on the first chit drawn, and get to move your airplanes last, thus minimizing the loss of your air force, OR take the initiative but you will risk not having air superiority on some areas. Best move will be keep as much of your air force at the front, that way you will be able to react to adjacent battles or pin the Allies fighters. Next time I'm flying in a day earlier, 😜😜

End result should look something like that. This is the British hvy and med bombers plus the air transports, that they been used in the game.

How to make airplane stands #2. I took the idea from Marks airplane units.

1) First you will need to print out the aircraft units from the files you receive after you purchase the game, on a high gloss self adhesive paper. Then you need to stick the print out on a 0.06 polystyrene sheet, and cut the stands from the sheet, pic#1.
2) You need to buy a mini aluminum drill from ebay(12 bucks) I used wire nails, cut both ends with a nail cutter, appx half an inch long.
3) Drill small holes under the airplane and one in the middle of the counter, and super glue the nail(hard wire ) in there, I usually glue them in the airplane first.

Quick question guys, the piece list on the Dropbox page says you will need 10 Fw-190s but when you print the air unit page there are only 8 counters, do I have to print the whole page for only these 2 counters?😳

Haven't forgotten about this topic guys, after struggle con I've been busy gluing my minis in the counters, making new air stands, and buying and painting new units, pics to follow soon.

I think having more land/inf units will get the spaces more crowed but air units won't create this problem, I rarely chip or place an air unit on an army marker. I think the European theatre is very well represented by the existing variety of air units, personally I would like to see a couple more Japanese air units.

Should the Wellington be in the brithish bomber counter, the Blenheim was an early war light bomber.

US Artillery Units: There are 5 different ones.

1)Artillery: I use the one that came from the A&A games.

2)Mech. Artillery: I use the HBG "Battle Pieces" - United States Supplement Set  - Priest Self-Propelled Artillery.

3)AA Guns: I use the generic from  the A&A games.

4) Anti-tank guns: I improvised here and used  the 152mm Howtizer Artillery - Russia (Europe 1940-2nd Ed).

5)Heavy Artillery: Improvised again and use the 90mm M1 AA Gun - United States (E40 2nd Ed).
